"GLORIFYING THE NAME OF GOD"

There is a principle in life that we need to follow.
It is found in I Corinthians 10:31 and it says, "Whether,
then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to
the glory of God."
This principle needs to be followed strongly in life.
It is the same principle that we are going to study
What does it mean to glorify the name of God? It
means to bring honor and glory to God through your
entire life. It means to bring praise to God. Therefore,
I want to speak tonight on "Glorifying The Name of
God." The name of God standing for all that God is.
Jesus said that He wanted to glorify God through the
following stages of His life. We should have the same
goal as well.
I. GLORIFY GOD THROUGH TROUBLE. (vs. 27-
"Soul has become troubled"
Jesus inner being is being stirred because
the time is drawing near fr Him- to suffer
* His question in verse 27-28 is not,
rfather, will You save Me from this
trouble?" but, "Father, will Your name
be glorified through this trouble?" His
desire was not for deliverance, but for
God to be glorified.
God spoke to Jesus. This is the third time
He audibly spoke to Jesus. He did it at His
baptism, on the Mount of Transfiguration,
and He did so here in Jesus "crisis". The
Father toald Him in the past You have brought
Me glory and today and in the future You
will bring Me glory.
Jesus told them He did not need audible
confirmation that He was in the Father's
will, but the voice came for them.
