"WHAT IS STEWARDSHIP?"
Genesis 1:1, 26, 28b; Psalm 24:1-2
INTRODUCTION: Illustrate the role of the Board of the Directors of the Baptist En-
campment in Palacios. (They are responsible and accountable for their
actions.
The Old Testament word for stewardship is "Radah". It means "I rule".
It is limited to human dominion.
The New Testament word for stewardship is "oikonomos". It means to
be a manager of an estate or an inspector of goods. The steward
did not own anything, but was to acknowlege its ownership and be
accountable for what he did to manage it.
"WHAT IS STEWARDSHIP?"
1. STEWARDSHIP UNDERSTANDS GOD AS BEING THE OWNER OF EVERYTHING.(Gen. 1:1, Psalm 24:1-2,
Psalm 50:10-12, Haggai 2:8)
Exp: Read the above Scriptures-GOD HAS NO NEEDS-HE OWNS ALL!
Ill: The Doctrine of God-He is all, owns all, knows all, and demands all from us.
App: You own nothing-It all belongs to God.
Your car, home, refrigerator, money, land, investments, savings accounts!
They are not yours, they are God's.
**The peace of this is when the car goes out it is God's car-He will supply
the money for you to pay for it.
The Bible says it is all his!
2. STEWARDSHIP BELIEVES THAT YOU, AS THE STEWARD, ARE THE TEMPORARY KEEPER OF EVERYTHING.
