"THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE"
April 22, 1990
Now your heart and mind are ready to pray!
Priority is the third division of the Lord's Prayer!
I. THE POWER OF THIS PHRASE. (Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done)
"Thy" - God's, not mine
"Kingdom" - rule of a King! Place of ruling! Establishing sovereignty on earth!
"Come" - to become, to come to pass, to be done, to happen!
"Thy" - God's will, not mine
"Will" - whatever God desires!
Where do you find God's will? Bible!
"Be done" - happen now! Take place now!
"On earth" - where we are now!
"As it is in heaven" - what is going on up there, let it happen down here!
(Heaven dictates to earth)
"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done" - The form and tone of the Greek language would
indicate a person firmlv and decisively putting his foot down, saying,
"Come Kingdom of God! Be done will of God!"
Paraphrase it for you to understand the intention of Jesus!
"Come Kingdom of God. Be done will of God. Whatever is happening in heaven, let
it now happen on earth."
