I. THE BIBLICAL BACKGROUND OF JEHOVAH SHALOM
Note three things in the passage read:
1. The Condition of God's people. (2:10-16; 6:6)
2. The Counsel of God. (6:12,14,16)
3. The Confidence of Gideon. (Doubt to Faith) (6:17, 22-24)
JEHOVAH - SHALOM MEANS "The Lord Our Peace"
In the Word - Shalom is translated peace 170 times
Shalom was a greeting Ours is "hello"
Bible days "Shalom" "Peace be with you and your house."
Jehovah Shalom should be one of the last names of God we praise in prayer. Why?
Because if I believe in Jehovah-Jireh, Jehovah-Nissi, Jehovah-Rophe, Jehovah-Sabaoth then
with all confidence I can proclaim Jehovah-Shalom - You are my peace.
