"WHO IS THE GREATEST? ARE YOU IMPORTANT TO GOD?"
JAMES 2:1-13
JUNE 24, 1990

INTRODUCTION: One day Jesus was walking down the road with
his disciples. They began to argue among one another about
which one of them was the greatest. Jesus told them that the
one who was greatest was the servant of all. The concept of
servanthood being a high honor is in contradiction to the
principles of this world.
The opposite of pride that always promotes itself as great-
ness, is the feeling of worthlessness. So many people in our
day feel worthless. They have bought the devil's lie that
they are bad and things are bad. However, God has told you
that each of you are important to Him.
T.S..: In this passage today I would like to address the
subject of our message by looking at the text in a unique
manner:
1. THE WAY YOU ARE NOT TO RESPOND TO OTHERS.(vs. 1-3)
Exp: When you are not being filled with the Holy Spirit
the way you respond to other people will be in a
carnal manner.
App: What does God tell us not to do in our relationship
to other people?
(1) God forbids demonstrating partiality.(v. 1)
(2)- God disregards pos-ition and prominence.
(vs. 2-3)
