JAMES 1:19-26

INTRODUCTION: When you make a decision based upon your
situation, rather than by what is right, that is situa-
tional ethics. (Social drinking)
Persons in America today desire to do as they please, but
dislike- taking- thie responsibility of their choices. They
want freedom without responsibility.
Even many Christians today will desire to do as they please
and by their lifestyle ask, "Do I have to do what God says?"
The secular world is willing to ask the question very bluntly
by saying, "Do I have to do what God says?"
T.S.: In the text, James 1:19-26, I would like for us to an-
swer the question, "Do I have to do what God says?" We will
address the question in a LAf efold manner in relationship to
life.
1. THE IMPERATIVE OF LIFE.(l PETER 1:25)
Exp: I would like to address briefly the imperative of
life from the basis of all Scripture. What is the
only real imperative for your life? I mean this is
essential in understanding life.
App: "WHAT GOD SAYS IS TRUTH FOR TODAY, TRUTH THAT WILL
NEVER CHANGE, AND TRUTH THAT WILL LAST FOREVER."
If a person is going to understand the only essen-
tial or necessity of life, they had better settle
the authority question in their life.(The Bible)
The Bible is a record of what God has said to us
about life! It is imperative we -understand its
authority. The Bible does not permit situational
ethics or freedom from responsibility. Do I Have
to do what God says? Absolutely! Why? Because
what God says is truth for today, truth that will
never change, and truth that will last forever!
