I. THE CHURCH IS TO EXHIBIT A SPIRIT OF COMMITMENT.(23-25a)
Exp: Commitment means to trust in, or to devote oneself to.
*Three things we are be de-vot-ed to-
1. We are to be true to God because He is our Hope.(23)
Exp: People were being persecuted and apostle is telling
them to be faithful because God Is Faithful.
2. We are to be true to people because they are whom we mini-
Exp: Stimulate means to arouse into action or to excite
each other to love.
*It helps people if you show care and concern for them.
3. We are to be true to the church because this is where we
learn spiritual things.(25a)
Exp: Assembling together for purpose of public worship.
Objective of writer is encouraging the people to not
fall away from the church.
App: Marriage is built on commitment, not love.
Areas of Application:
We simply do not care about our church.
W We think we are good enough without it, when we may be good
but not spiritual.
