Matt. 1:18-25; John 1:14; Phil. 2:5-11
INTRODUCTION: Today is the day when all of the world looks to the birth of Jesus Christ!
Is there anything wrong with looking only to his birth?
Wle$bratinW C stmas is remembering th posT of his coming!
Why did he om at made this baby different from all of the rest?
What kind of eople~did he come for in this world?
1. HE CAME FOR THE LOWLY PEOPLE.(Phil. 2:7-8)
Exp: Lowly meaning humble or quiet in condition. _
(2:7-8) He humbled and became a man--All peop awre lowly and frail individuals!
He came for those who may live by this wor d's lowly standards.
Ill: Why did many people miss the coming of Christ? Expectation of a Davidic King who
serve as an earthly king and he came as a suffering servant! (A bond-servant)
App: He identified himself not with the religious or social crowd of his day, but with
the common people! He ate in the homes of the outcasts and sinners! We are all
lowly!
*TO THE LOWLY: HE CAME TO BE THEIR FRIEND!
2. HE CAME FOR THE LONELY PEOPLE.(Matt. 1:23)
Exp: Who are the lonely people? Those without Jesus Christ! God is with us!(John 1:14)
Ill: How many times in this holiday season have you been brought to meditate upon the
truth that this baby is the Son of Go ...
