"ARE YOU ANYTHING LIKE JESUS?"

INTRODUCTION: President John F. Kennedy said: "It is not what your country can do for
you, but it is what you can do for your country."
This attitude of service-It is is others-oriented, not self-centered!
This is like Jesus was, and the question today is, Are you anthing like Jesus?
1. TO BE LIKE JESUS YOU WILL BE FULL OF HUMILITY, NOT FULL OF PRIDE.(4-9)
Exp: Jesus, the Son of God who was the Lord of all, was bending his knee to wait
upon others.
This demonstrated his humility-He was not to good to minister to all. (He washed
their feet)
Ill: One characteristic of humility is to be @ c4abie to the Holy Spirit!
Joy leaves the Christian's life when they become unteachable!
App: None of us have arrived! We must lay our towels at the feet of others!
Are you humble? Pride is of the devil and always causes destruction!
Some need to come in humility and say yes to Jesus.
2. TO BE LIKE JESUS YOU WILL BE SERVING, NOT BEING SERVED.(14)
Exp: Jesus challenged the disciples to be people who served others and wash other's
feet.
Jesus said, "I came not to be ministered to, but to minister!"
You will be selfless and minister to others!
Ill: Perhaps John Kennedy foresaw the activities of the 60's and early 70's when he
made his famous statement on serving your country.
America has sed several generations with the attitude of, What is in it for
me if I do it7 What do I gain?"
If we do not see personal gain we do not help people!
