Could Satan Have A Hold On You? by Ronnie Floyd

"How To Overcome Satan's Attacks In Your Life"
Sermon #3
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
May 17, 1992
In 1990 a teenage girl walked down the aisle of this church
and gave her life to Jesus Christ. Immediately she begin to
grow and surprised many by her knowledge of God and His
Word. However, as a babe in Christ she was vulnerable to
being misled.
Four months after her conversion she began to experience
difficulty with sleeplessness. One month later she began to
feel her food made her sick, so she began to eat very little.
Troubled with these difficulties she sought help from an adult
within our fellowship.
Over a period of time this adult assessed this teenager's
problem as demon possession. The names and numbers of
demons were determined that supposedly indwelt this new
believer in Jesus. Exorcism was attempted. In time, some
of the members of our fellowship rescued this young girl from
this situation.
This leads to a very interesting question: Can Satan and his
demons indwell the body of a believer? Absolutely Not! Jesus
said, "a kingdom divided against itself will not stand." Under
no conditions can Satan and his demons possess or live within
a born again believer.
When you see that you are a sinner, turn from your sin, and
surrender your life to Jesus Christ to be the Lord and Savior
of your life, then Jesus comes into your life. At the moment
of conversion, He comes into your life in absolute control
and power. You have authority spiritually in Jesus Christ!
The message today is entitled, "Can Satan Have 'A Hold'
On You?" If so, what kind of hold can he have on the life
of the born again believer in Jesus Christ? From the
passage today we can learn the answer to these questions.
