Introduction:
"Do you have what it takes to do whatever it takes?" This is the title of my message today. Since the first of the year we have been challenging you with the theme "whatever it takes!" God has led me to challenge you strongly in your spiritual life. However, today I want to talk to you about a very important ingredient you must have in your life to do whatever God wants you to do.

Am I talking about your ability? Do you have the ability to do whatever it takes to please God? I am not talking today about ability. Many have unbelievable ability but fail sorely in their walk with God.

Am I talking about the assistance of others so you can be successful? The world's word is, "It is not what you know but who you know." Well, a lot of Christians have dynamic friends who try to help them be successful in their walk with God, yet even the assistance of their friends is not enough.

Do you have whatever it takes to do whatever it takes? What am I talking about? Through the last year we have seen the Governor of our state demonstrate what I am talking about today. He had a drive, a desire, an attitude . . . that he wanted to be the leader of this land. You have to give him credit, through the scrutiny of media, through the attacks of opposition, he never lost his focus. He was driven to become the President of our country. This week we will see him inaugurated and we will pray for him that he will honor God in his presidency.

Even this afternoon, you will have opportunity to see four professional football teams play to see who will go to the Super Bowl. These four teams may not have the greatest ability in the NFL or have the support or assistance of everyone else in the NFL, but friend, they will play today because of their drive . .. their attitude . . . their conviction that they are to be world champions.
