"THE POWER YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE"
John 8:12-20
March 22, 1992
INTRODUC-TFON:
There is a lot of emphasis in America today on power. Some
believe that the power of the mind excels all other power.
Others would disagree and promote the importance of the
physical power of the body. There are still others who would
say that technological power far exceeds the power of the
human being. And yet others would say that nothing in this
world is greater than nuclear power.
Illustration:
The sun is the great center of the vast aerial system. It
is some 95 million miles from earth while the moon is only
240,000 miles from earth. The diameter of the sun is
estimated at almost 900,000 miles and could easily contain
the planet earth a million times over. The sun is a very
powerful entity. The sun's powerful force exceeds human
comprehension.
Application:
From this sun we receive light.
Genesis 1:3 says, "Then God said, 'Let there be light."'
In John 4:24 the Bible says, "God is spirit."
In 1 John 4:8 God says, "God is love."
In 1 John 1:5 God says, "God is light."
There would be no light, no human mind power, no human
physical power, no technological power, and no nuclear
power, without the power of Jesus Christ. Without the
sun there would be no life. Even as powerful as the sun
is, it exists to accomplish the will of the Son, Jesus Christ.

Large candlesticks were placed outside the Temple
to remind them of the pillar of fire that led them
at night.
Jesus had just encouraged the people to not condemn
