PRAYER

JER: 33:1-3
1While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him a second time: 2"This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it- the Lord is his name: 3Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'

Tell you, show you things you do not know-Things you won't find in a book. Hidden, mysterious.

NOTE:Absolutely no evidence God will answer prayer yes just because we're living right, tithing & going to church.

"If then" is manipulation to refuse God's answers because they don't fit into our plans is manipulative.

Basic issue in prayer is obedience. When you answer is "yes" regardless of the question, you are ready to talk to God.

Jehoshaphat (2 Chron. 20:6-12)

6and said: "O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not the god who is in Heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. 7our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? 8They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your Name, saying, 9If calamity comes upon us,
whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us save us.' 10"But now here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, whose territory you would not allow Israel to invade when they came from Egypt; so they turned away from them and did not destroy them.11See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you gave us as an inheritance. 12 our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."
Great Multitude coming to take God's people into captivity. Called people to prayer and fasting.

"God we have no might or strength. All we can do is focus on you." God heard and caused their enemies to destroy themselves.

Prayer means you can never say "there is nothing I can do."

Satan has no defense against prayer.

e.g. Devil trembles when a Christian falls to his knees

Prayer is always relevant. If it is big enough to worry about it is big enough to pray about.

Phil 4:6:Pray about everything - Didn't list exceptions

Rom 12:2:Trust God to transform your mind

Prayer changes priorities helping us push away the clutter and reveals the difference between the urgent and the important.

Change abide to "spend time (Jn.15:4-9)
If you spend time with God, he will spend time with you (4). If you spend time with him and his words spend time with you, Ask whate ...
