What Happens to a Christian After the Rapture
January 22, 1995
Some day, in the not too distant future, a cataclysmic event of incredible magnitude will take place with the "snatching away" of God's people. Millions of people will suddenly disappear! These millions are called Christians; this event, we call the rapture.
What happens to those Christians and what makes me think that we will miss the most horrible times ever imagined? Here is my answer.
I. Why I don't believe we will go through the tribulation.
1. Scriptures teach us.
1 Thessalonians 1:10
1 Thessalonians 5:9
"The Blessed Hope."
2. Old Testament types point differently -- Remnants.
Godly Enoch right before the flood.
Carnal Lot was backslidden, but as God got ready to judge Sodom and Gomorrah.
**Luke 17 -- Noah passage.
3. Revelation 3:22
"The Spirit says to the churches."
Revelation 13:9 -- Tribulation passage.
Notice the Spirit is missing and churches. They are gone.
4. 2 Thessalonians 2
Christians in Thessalonia were in great trial. They thought this was the great tribulation.
Paul told them this was not the biggie.
**Like earthquakes -- "the big one."
So they said, "Then what is this?"
Then Paul talks about the Antichrist, the man of sin. The only thing that holds it back is the Restrainer, the Holy Spirit of God. This man of sin will come in the name of peace and unity. He reigns seven years. The last half of the Tribulat ...
