INTRO. We see in v.18-21 ff applying specifically to the general principle Paul set down in v.17, namely, that all we Christians do, we are relating to His name. What we read here is distinctively
Christian with the expressed purpose and ultimate goal being the glory of the Lord.

The first place our Christian faith should go to work is in the home. l Timothy 5:4, "let them learn first to show piety at home." Today, we are going to look at four key words that when assimilated into our lives and homes lead to peace and joy. The words are: submit, love, obey, provoke not. Centuries ago, Confucius said, "the strength of a nation is derived from the integrity of its homes." One of the greatest things we can do as individuals is help build Godly Christian homes. These are ingredients that make for a strong and Godly home.



Jesus has given both husband and wife a position to function in. When each individual fulfills their role,
it can produce a healthy marriage.

When husband and wife are both Christians, seeking to
do the will of God, in whose hearts there is real mutual affection and esteem, there will be no difficulty whatever in regard to such an admonition
as this; but it will require true grace to yield
loving obedience when perhaps the husband is carnal,
worldly, and unreasonable; and yet we need to remember the marriage relationship is divinely
ordained and as the old wedding ceremony put its,
"not to be lightly entered into", and according to
the Word of God, not easily to be terminated.
