James 2:l-4



INTRODUCTION: Immature people talk about their beliefs, but the
mature person lives his faith. Hearing God's Word and talking
about God's Word can never substitute for doing God's Word. The
way we behave toward people indicates what we really believe
about God.

I. EXHORTATION. v.l

A. EXHORTATION OF THE SCRIPTURES. la

Favoritism Luke l4:7-l4; Matt. 22:l6, "For thou
regardeth not the person of men, (you pay no attention
to who they are). Snobbery in the church. "Respect
of persons" - to lay hold of one's face; lay hold of
what
one appears to be.

B. EXAMPLE OF THE SAVIOR. lb

Jesus looks on the heart not outward appearance.
Dress, color of skin, fashion, and other superficial
things carry more weight than the Fruit of the Spirit.

ILLUSTRATION: If one is a Christian - Christ lives in
him. If one is not a Christian - Christ died for
him.
