INTRODUCTION: Many women had become Christians and were
striving to maintain a successful relationship with their
unsaved husbands while continuing to be faithful to the Lord.
Sometimes this was extremely difficult, especially when the man
was antagonistic to the Gospel. However, the Apostle Peter
gives us sound principles that God uses to win your children's
Father, your Husband. It is apparent that Peter is addressing
people that were facing many of the same problems that people
today face. Yet, a Christian wife is to respond differently
than a lost person. In I Cor. 7:l3, Paul said,
"And the woman who hath an husband that believeth not, and if he
be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him."
Also, it will do us all well to remember the words of Jeremiah
32:l7, "Ah, Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the
earth by thy great power and outstretched arm, and there is
nothing too hard for thee."


A. Gives An Example.

"In the same manner" - refers back to 2:2l-25;
Jesus Christ is the wife's supreme example of
submission. It is the same principle of
Phil. 2:5-8.

Jesus was submissive and obedient to God's will,
so a Christian wife should follow His example.

B. Gives An Exhortation

"be in subjection to your own husbands"

to place under rank; this does not refer to
inferiority or quality; this is God's design;
