II Cor. 4:1-7

INTRODUCTION: God desires that I know Him and also that I
experience His power and what He can accomplish. God has not
called me to defeat, but a life committed and dedicated to Him.

I. THE CONSECRATION OF THE MAN OF GOD. v.1-6

A. DEDICATED IN THE WORK OF GOD. 2a

"dishonesty" - underhanded;
disgraceful methods, shameful acts;
deceitful practices to get
followers.

B. DEDICATED IN HIS WALK WITH GOD. 2b

"craftiness" - not hypocritical;
honest and sincere

C. DEDICATED TO THE WORD OF GOD. 2c

"deceitfully" - to catch with bait;
falsify; to adulterate (the Word and
the Spirit are inseparable)

a. Proclaiming of Savior as
Sovereign. 5c

b. Proclaiming of Self as
Servant. 5d.


II. THE CONTENT OF THE MAN OF GOD. v.7

A. SELF IS NOT SUFFICIENT. 7a

"earthen vessels" - jars of clay;
God is glorified through weak vessels

the gospel, "All God's giants
have been weak men who did great
things for God because they reckoned
on Him being with them."
