ADONAI - THE LORD

Genesis 15:1-6

INTRODUCTION: Adonai means Lord, Master, and Owner. It is in
the text before us that we see God expressed as Lord to Abraham.
It is in this test that we read about Abraham's salvation, his
conversion. I want to deal with and answer the question: What
does it mean to trust God as Lord of your life? What is
involved in someone being saved? How does His name pertain to
your salvation? The Bible teaches that Jehovah (the
Self-Existent One) is Lord (Adonai). In Gal. 3:6-9, "Even as
Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness. Know ye, therefore, that they who are of faith,
the same are the sons of Abraham. And the scripture, forseeing
that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, preached
before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all
nations be blessed. So, then, they who are of faith are blessed
with faithful Abraham," the Scriptures teach that Abraham placed
his faith in God. He had a personal relationship with God.
Jesus coined the phrase, "born again." Let's look together into
the Bible and deal face-to-face with this subject.

I. WHY DO WE HAVE TO BE SAVED?

Matt. 1:21, "And she shall bring forth a
son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus;
for he shall save his people from their
sins."

"Jesus" - God our Savior; Jehovah our
Salvation
II. WHAT IS SIN?

subtle than any beast of the field
which the Lord God had made. And he
