Gal. 4:8-18

INTRODUCTION: The Galatians turned from grace to law. They
abandoned liberty for bondage. They were dropping out of the
school of grace and enrolling in the kindergarten.

I. THE ACCUSATION OF THIS CLAIM. v.8-11

A. PAST. 8

Their gods did exist, but not gods
of nature. Paul does not deny their
existence, but their deity. They
belonged to a world not human, but
demonic.

B. PRESENT. 9

"Again" - speaks of the repetition
of an act, that repetition having
the same source as the first act;
there is a return to a former
position. They gave up the power
of the gospel for weakness of law;
wealth of gospel for poverty of law.

C. PRACTICES. 10

If we observe special days like slaves,
hoping to gain some spiritual merit, then we
are sinning. Don't make an outward
event a substitute for the inward
experience.




D. PANIC. 11
