IT'S MY DESIRE

Eph. 4:30-32
May 29, 1994

INTRODUCTION: I have served four Southern Baptist Churches over
the last l8 years. During that time, I have noted that the most
requested decision during the invitation is: "It's my desire to
be (more) like Jesus." I am of the conviction that there are
some principles that must not be violated if I am to be like
Jesus. By the way, when I am like Him, He uses me to "minister
grace unto the hearers," which, in turn, builds them up.

Oswald Chambers said, "The people who influence us most are not
those who buttonhole us and talk to us, but those who live their
lives like the stars in heaven and the lilies in the field,
perfectly simply and unaffectedly. Those are the lives that
mould us. If you want to be of use to God, get rightly related
to Jesus Christ and He will make you of use unconsciously every
minute you live."

A. THE SPIRIT OF GOD. 30a

"grieve" - offend or sadden; How? By rebellious deeds
or grievous words. He is a sensitive person. He
lives
within the believer.

ILLUSTRATE:

Ezekiel 11:19, "And I will give them one heart, and I
will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the
stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an
heart of flesh."
You can form a hard crust on your heart by repeated
disobedience.
