INTRODUCTION

A. OPENING ILLUSTRATION: BABE RUTH WAS
ONE OF THE GREATEST BASEBALL
PLAYERS TO EVER TAKE THE FIELD. HE
STILL IS A HERO. ONE OF THE LITTLE
KNOWN FACTS ABOUT RUTH IS IN THE
LAST YEARS OF PLAY HE WAS NOT AS
GOOD AS HE ONCE HAD BEEN. AFTER A
PARTICULARLY BAD GAME HE WAS BOOED
BY THE CROWD AS HE LEFT THE FIELD.
SUDDENLY FROM NOWHERE CAME A
LITTLE BOY OUT OF THE STANDS. HE RAN
ONTO THE FIELD AND WRAPPED HIS ARMS
AROUND THE BABE. HE REFUSED TO LET
GO. BABE RUTH WAS STILL THIS YOUNG
MAN’S HERO. RUTH REACHED DOWN AND
HUGGED THE LITTLE BOY. SLOWLY THE
BOOING STOPPED. THE CROWD STOOD IN
SILENCE TAKING IN THIS SCENE. AT LEAST

GOD’S LOVE FOR US.

I. GOD’S LOVE IS PREMEDITATED. VS. 3 “YES, I
HAVE LOVED YOU...”

A. THE WORD PREMEDITATED MEANS TO
THINK OUT OR PLAN BEFOREHAND.

B. THE LORD PLANNED OUT OUR LOVE
BEFOREHAND.

1. IT ISN’T ONLY THAT HE DOES LOVE
US. HE HAS LOVED US AS JEREMIAH
SAID.

2. “WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS” HE
LOVED US.

3. WHEN MAYBE THERE WAS NOTHING
GOOD THAT COULD BE SAID ABOUT
US HE LOVED US. HE JUMPED THE
FENCE FOR US.

C. THERE ARE NO PLEAS OF TEMPORARY
INSANITY. HE SIMPLY SAYS, “I HAVE
CHOSEN TO LOVE YOU.”

D. THIS HE HAS DONE WITH FULL
KNOWLEDGE OF US. GOD’S LOVE OF US
PRECEDES ...
