INTRODUCTION

A. Will what you believe stand up in an inte-
lectual atmosphere?

1. Paul said in Romans 1:16 "For I am not
ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for
it is the power of God to salvation
for everyone who believes, for the Jew
first and also for the Greek."

a. Paul was proud of the Gospel.
One of the most intellectual
men in the world.

b. It worked! School, home, class-
room, social function.

2. Do not have to be intimidated when it
comes to Your belief.

B. Paul's experience when he arrived in Athens.

1. Athens was an intellectual, artistic
center, known the world over for its
literature, oratory, architecture,
Sculpture, and philosophy.

2. The city was filled with intellectual-
ism, cynicism, and religion.

3. This situation demonstrated the
heights to which a man can go and
still be ignorant of the living God.

4. Paul was moved in his spirit to talk
about true smartness.

C. The smartest people are those who Allow:


I. COMMITMENT TO OVERRIDE CURIOSITY. VS. 23.

A. Paul's spirit was stirred when he saw the
idolatry of the city.

1. Man was worshiping objects that he
had created.
