Introduction

B. We are entering a new year.

1. Our lives are like houses.
(In fact Jesus cp. our lives to houses.)

2. Like the building of a house we do so one step or one day at a time.

C. Today, I want to offer you encouragement for building your life this next year.

1. Acts 14 is appropriate. The disciples are returning to churches they started to encourage the Believers.

2. They are also starting out on a new mission. Preaching to the Gentiles.

D. To build a life we can be comfortable living we must:


I. FOCUS ON FAITH. VS. 22 "CONTINUE IN (THE FAITH)"

(THE FAITH IS FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. TO LIVE A LIFE OF FAITH WE MUST:

A. DETERMINE DEPENDENCE.

1. The faith is singular not plural. There is only one enduring faith: Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. There are those who believe it really doesn't matter what you believe as long as you really believe.

ill. Can be any religion, one's self, the horoscope, Friends from the Psychic network, etc...

3. Faith is really only as strong as the object of faith.

ill. The show 911, snowmobilers confident and content until the ice caved in. Had faith in the ice but it wasn't strong enough to hold them. On the other hand I was in upper Michigan a few years ago. I was invited to walk out on the ice. This South Georgia boy was skeptical. I tiptoed out. Make me lighter.
