A SHADOW OF HEAVEN
HEBREWS 8:1-6
...so we are glad that you're here. We're going to try to look at all of Hebrews 8;
we're not going to make it; we're going to get as far as we can. Let's bow for
prayer together.
"Father, You speak now and let me get out of the way so that Thy
Word and Thy Truth might be heard; received; understood and may we
put into practice right where we live. Deal with individually and
collectively as we gather in the name that's above every name - the
name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."
Three old boys were walking along the beach; all three married. They saw an
unusual bottle, tossed there in the surf. And one of them said you know that looks
like one of those bottles you see in the Near East. They waded out there and picked
up this little blue bottle and said you know that looks like one of those bottles that
have those Genies in it on television and he rubbed that bottle and a little Genie
came out and said what do you wish my master. The old boy said I wish I was
smart as 1, twice as smart as I am. The Genie says your wish is my command;
you're twice as smart. The other old boy grabbed that bottle and he rubbed on it;
the Genie came out and said what do you wish my master. He said I wish I were-
twice as smart as this guy. He said, bam! you're twice as smart as he is. Your
wish is my command. The other old boy grabbed that bottle; he rubbed it; the

Genie came out and said what do you wish? And he said I wish was a hundred
times smarter that these two guys. The Genie said, "Have you ever thought about
being a woman?"
Age old argu-ment. 'W-ho- &uperior? The man or the woman. Being a card carrying
male chauvinist, I thought I knew, but if I had to come down, I may have to come
down on the side that I think, perhaps, Adam came down on as our first man.
You know the Hebrew word for man is 'is ("ish"). The Hebrew word for woman is
