YOU CAN'T CHEAT AN HONEST MAN

Exodus 20:15


Let's bow for prayer together. Just be still before Him just a moment,

Open up our hearts and our minds and ask Him to deal with us in this place

of gathering in worship. "Oh, Lord, You speak and let me get out of the

way so that Thy Word and Thy holy and divine message might be heard. For

we make this prayer in the strong name of Jesus Christ. Amen."


You are a real estate broker in a small northern city. You're a member

of the church, respected in the community, an esteemed depositor in the

local bank. Everything about you - your wife and your family - speaks of

respectability. You just closed out a big real estate deal. You had a

dog lot that had been for sale for years and nobody would buy it that had

a lick of sense. But a fellow who came in from out of town who didn't

know all the problems with the property, you just let him have it and

made a killing. Now, to reward yourself, you decide to take a trip to

Florida. And it's no reason to take the wife or the family. You need

just to get away and rest.


So you go down and get a ticket on the airplane. And as you're getting on

board, you start down that little corridor there and the ticket-taker has

to send a stewardess to get you, because somehow you forgot to let her

tear your ticket out. And you said, "Well, I was just excited about going

to Florida, and it was just an oversight." And you get on the plane, and

thinking about the deal that you made, and you look across the aisle and

there's an older man reading a church magazine. And his eye catches your

eye, and you introduce yourself to him, and he introduces himself to you.

His name is Mr. Ro ...
