They thought they had out done Jesus and destroyed him. God is saying to
them, “Jesus was no victim, he was delivered to them by the foreknowledge of
God.” So it was

1. Pre-determined by God

1) Delivered {ie. handed over) A word commonly used of those who
were surrendered over to their enemies.((John 3:16) "Gave.”

2) Determined Council

A. Council - i.e. will or design.
B. Determinate - ie. decreed, appointed. Comes from a word that
means "to mark out with a boundry."
C. Together, they indicate that God determined and willed that
Jesus would be crucified.

2 Timothy 1:9 - Read

Acts 4:26-28? They thought they were so shrewd all they did was carry
out the will of God.

3) Foreknowledge "Prognosis" Foreordained - re-determining,
pre directed (not simply knowledge of time
Christ was chosen before the creation of the world"

2. Carried out by man

The Jews were the instigators. (This man was handed over by you). The
Romans were the executioners (With the help of wicked men, put him to
death by nailing him to the cross).

2) The beginning of power. (V. 25-28)

A. Divine Power - Heb. 2:14 "Too much power for death to hold
Him."

B. Divine Promise - John 2:19-22 ) Luke 244-45 )

C. Divine Purpose - John 14:19 "Because T live, ye shall live
also God mock death!

2. Prophesied by David. W 25-28

Psalms l6 is carefully by Peter. “For David said about him
Yes, David spoke of Messiah"

Frequently the prophet speaking in the first person.
voice of the Messiah. For example, in Psalm 22:1 David writes, "My God
my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" But, those were the words of Christ
on the cross. So here David is speaking, but it is really the
messiah
