WHAT LOVE LOOKS LIKE
HOSEA 3
DURING THE DAYS OF JEREMIAH, THERE LIVED A LESS FAMOUS
PROPHET, A YOUNG MAN NAMED HOSEA. WHILE JEREMIAH SPOKE TO
CROWD& IN THE CARPTOLL H-SEA PREACHED IN THE SMALL OUT-OF-THE
WAY PLACES.
ONE EVENING AS THE PEOPLE GATHERED FOR THE SERVICE,
HOSEA SAW THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL HE HAD EVER SEEN1 HER HAIR
WAS BLACK AND GLISTENING1 HER FACE WAS PERFECTLY SHAPED AND
HER SMILE WAS RADIANT. WHEN THE MEETING ENDED HE CALLED
SOMEONE ASIDE AND ASKED: "WHO IS THAT GIRL?" "I MUST MEET
HER!" "No HOSEA,' HIS FRIENDS REPLIED, 'SHE IS NOT YOUR TYPE.

OF THE LUSTFUL AND PAGAN RELIGION OF BAAL. BUT, BOTH WERE SO
LOVE STRUCK THERE WAS NO HEEDING OF ADVICE. ON A MOONLIT NIGHT
HOSEA PROPOSED: "WILT THOU?" AND GOMER WILTED, SO THE

OF GOD AND WERE MARRIED.
HOSEA HAD BEEN HAPPY IN HIS LIFE AS A PROPHET. WHAT JOY
IN SERVING THE LORD AND KNOWING YOU WALK IN HIS CHOSEN
PROFESSION. BUT NOW HE WAS ECSTATIC. WITH THE BEAUTIFUL
GOMER AS HIS WIFE HE WAS EVEN MORE DRIVEN TO MAKE HIS MARK.
SOON A CHILD WAS BORN TO HOSEA AND GOMER. As GOD OFTEN DID
IN THOSE DAYS, HE SUGGESTED A NAME FOR THE CHILD WHICH
REFLECTED ITS CHARACTER AND PURPOSE. TO THIS FIRST CHILD,
A BOY, GOD GAVE THE NAME JEZREEL.
HOSEA' S JOY WAS NOW EVEN GREATER. HOW HE LOVED TO GO OUT
INTO THE RURAL AREAS TO PREACH AND THEN RETURN TO HIS WIFE
AND SON.
ANOTHER CHILD IS BORN - A DAUGHTER, AND ...
