Knowing God's Will by Adrian Rogers

Knowing God's Will
Adrian Rogers

Our subject tonight is, Knowing God's Will. I want you to take God's precious word and turn if you will with me to Psalm thirty two and here's a promise from the word of God. Psalm thirty two and verse eight. God promises, I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go. I will guide thee with mine eye Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule which have no understanding, whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. I will guide thee, God says. I will teach thee, I will instruct thee. It cannot be more clear. God has a plan for every man's life, for every woman's life. I suppose that the question that is asked more than any other in bible discussions with college students and others when you get right down to the bottom line is this, how can I know the will of God for my life. Because man is a clever creature and he's lost his way in the darkness and it's so sad to see so many, many of them young people floundering around without a sense of direction. Somebody has said that half of our problems come from wanting our own way and now, we need to find the will of God, the way of God for our lives. And then again in Proverbs chapter three and verse six. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path. And so we have the father above us controlling all things. We have our dear Lord Jesus Christ beside us, , directing our footsteps. We have the Holy Spirit of God within us impressing our hearts and showing us the way to go. And so, listen to me my dear friends, whoever you are and wherever you are in this auditorium or those of by radio, or may hear this later by tape. God has a specific plan for your life. Not just for the minister of music, not just for the Missionary as we prayed tonight, not just for the pastor, but for all people. It is as true for the plumber as it is the preacher. And as a matter of fact, if God called you to be a plumber you'd be out of the will of God if you tried to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. God has a plan for everyone's life and the bible says in Ephesians chapter three, excuse me, chapter two and verse ten. We, that is, his children are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. So, God has a plan. He has before ordained that plan for us. The bible teaches that the very hairs of our head are numbered. God knows about us as individuals. God never deals with people in mass as such, he deals with them as individuals and God has as many methods as he has men. God has a particular specific plan for your life and it is your duty and your delight to find, to follow, to finish God's plan for your life. So, one may I be bold enough to give you four ways to kno ...
