Building Healthy Relationships in a Dysfunctional Society
David A. Cawston
Romans 13:1-5

Introduction:
On the subject of Authority there are a lot of mixed feelings and emotions.

We as Americans have been rather independent and have had trouble with authority.

We have negative feelings because of bad experiences.

-Oppression by rulers
-Abusiveness of authority figures
In our families
In the Church
In our society
police
State officials
Government officials

-Injustice by those in rulership

Col 3:20

20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. (KJV)

Even Jesus submitted himself to his parent's authority.
