Divine Guidance For A New Decade by Nelson Price

DIVINE GUIDANCE FOR A NEW DECADE (12/31/89)
ISAIAH 41:10
(PAGE 1059 COME ALIVE BIBLE)

JESUS CHRIST wants to meet you at the dawning of this new decade
and guide you throughout it.
An old decade ends with all of its potential gone. A new decade
dawns with all of its promise awaiting.
The unknown always gives us uncertainty. Rejoice, Isaiah the
prophet records God as saying, "For, I the Lord your God, will
hold your right hand, Saying to you, Fear not, I will help you"
(Isaiah 41: 13).
Poet Minnie Louise Haskins picked up on this thought:
"And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:
'Give me a light, that I may tread safely into the unknown!'
And he replied:
'Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the
Hand of God.
That shall be to the better than light and safety than
a way known.'
So, I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly
into the night.
And He led me toward the hills and the breaking of the day
in the lone East."
So, heart, be still!
What need our little life,
Our human life, to know,
If God has comprehension?"
The importance of a new start can't be overestimated. However,

underestimating and considering worthless. Don't underestimate
as worthless the blessing of starting over.

In this new year you have 8,756 hours. You will likely sleep
away 2,920 of them. That leaves 5,836 hours on which to build
your heart's desire.
Isaiah gives us much further insight on the cause for confidence
in facing the unknown of a new decade in Isaiah 41:10.
I. GOD'S TWO-FOLD COMMAND FOR THE YEAR
A. A DIVINE PRIVILEGE IN "TWO NOTS."
1. "Fear Not" - God had chosen Israel as His servant. In
the East God was raising up a fearful nation. All nations
trembled in fear. God said, "Israel, don't be like others and
fear him." We too must not fear but trust.
This is a prelude to the angel's message at Christ's birth:
"Fear not, for..."
With Christ as our perpetual companion, we can take the risk and
trust His infinite love. We have no reason to be afraid to face
the radiant wonder of life with Him as our guide. God the
Creator can be God and fearless. We cannot be men and women,
the creatures, and fearless. However, in life if a child ...
