I LOVE MAPS. I ENJOY PLOTTING OUT A JOURNEY ON A MAP BEFORE I
GO. LAST SUMMER MARY AND I PLANNED A VACATION IN GLACIER
NATIONAL PARK IN MONTANA AND IN BAMFF PARK IN CANADA . MAPS
ALLOW US TO KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING AND TO KNOW WHERE WE HAVE
BEEN. THEY ARE INDESPENSABLE. WITHOUT THEM YOU ARE LOST.

WE ALL HAVE A LIFE MAP.
IT IS THE BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD OF OUR LIFE SHAPING EXPERIENCES
WITH THE PEOPLE, EVENTS AND CHOICES, THAT HAVE HAD THE MOST
SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON OUR LIVES.

OUR GREATEST LIFE SHAPING EXPEIENCES FALL INTO EXTREMES. THE
SHARP UPWARD CURVE OF CELEBRATION AND THE U-TURN OF DOWN TIMES
OF SUFFERING. THESE ARE THE TIMES WHEN WE HAVE CRIED IN JOY AND
THEN IN PAIN.

THE JOY WE CAN HANDLE! THE PAIN WE SEEK TO AVOID.

BUT SIMON PETER, THE MAN WHO LEARNED THAT FAILURE AND PAIN ARE
NOT FINAL, BUT A NECESSARY REFINING PROCESS ON THE PATH TO
HUMILTY, SERVICE, AND SIGNIFICANCE, WAS ABLE TO WRITE ONE OF THE
MOST ENCOURAGING LETTERS TO PEOPLE SNARED IN THE TRAP OF
SUFFERING AND PAIN.

THIS WE ALL SHARE IN COMMON ON OUR LIFE MAPS!
WE ARE ALL SUFFERING IN SOME WAY, EXPERIENCING SOME DEGREE OF
PAIN. NO ONE TODAY IS LIVING A TROUBLE OR PROBLEM FREE LIFE. IF
YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PERFECT HAPPINESS, IT DOES NOT EXIST IN
THIS LIFE.

NOTHING WILL IMPACT YOUR LIFE MORE THAN HOW YOU HANDLE
DISAPPOINTMENTS AND DISCOURAGEMENT. WHAT YOU DO WITH PAIN AND
SUFFERING WILL BE THE MAKING OF WHO YOU ARE!
