THE PRAYER LIFE OF JESUS
“The Disciples Delight”
August 1, 1999
Dr. Ernest L. Easley
I am thrilled to announce this morning that
beginning Sunday .. August 15th . . . we are beginning
a church-wide prayer meeting that I believe will lead
us to become a prayer-driven church!
Our first prayer meeting will be held right here
starting at 5:30 p.m. We’ll finish around 6:15 p.m.
for a brief brake prior to the evening worship service.
Together . . . we’ll enjoy praying for one
another. We’ll enjoy praying for present needs in one
another’s life. We’ll be praying for our neighbors
and family that are without a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ. There will be a time of Adoration
. . . Confession . . . Thanksgiving . . . and Supplication.
I am convinced that through these prayer
meetings that we will see the hand of God at work!
We’ll see miracles take place. We’ll see our
ministries energized by the Spirit of God. And First
Baptist Church will cease living beneath her potential
as we become a prayer-driven church!
This prayer meeting is for every deacon .. every
Sunday School worker . . . every choir member ..
every staff member . . . every body and anybody with
a need in their life or a burden on their heart. And
I’m anticipating seeing you here beginning Sunday ..
August 15th at 5:30 p.m. sharp.
With that in mind . . . take your Bible and join
me in the 17th chapter of John. We’re picking up
where we left of last Sunday morning as we listen in
on the greatest prayer that has ever been prayed.
It’s from this 17th chapter of John that we learn
some things about the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact . . .
it’s from this chapter that we learn about the
priority of Jesus.
Jesus not only came into this world to talk to
people about God . . . He also talked to God the Father
about people. Prayer was the priority of Jesus.
Everything He did hinged on prayer. Prayer
